Yesterday an mentally deranged woman began stalking around Times Square with a knife in each hand, and stabbing people. She managed to stab a 68-year-old man, putting him into the hospital, and a woman who had just had a baby five months ago, and her fatally.
She was then confronted by police, ignored orders to drop the knives, and began to advance on them—they then shot her, with fatal effect.
Perhaps the most remarkable and horrifying part of all this? The many people on social media chastising the police for their use of deadly defensive force.
