It must be a day ending in “Y,” because the three SCRONES—as I refer to the three SCOTUS crones of Justices Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson—are on the losing side of yet more Supreme Court decisions, this time in the context of voting rights and trans rights (or, more accurately, parental rights in the context of trans).
In the case of Kosinski v. Williams the super-majority Democrat party state of New York had created an explicitly racist Congressional district in order to strip that seat from a Republican and hand it to a Democrat. The Supreme Court by a 6-3 vote ordered that racist redistricting map stopped, leaving the previously existing Congressional district in place for the 2026 mid-terms—obviously a huge win for white people against the racist black and brown people attempting to suppress their political voice. The dissent, predictably, was Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson.
In the case of Mirabelli v. Bonta the super-majority Democrat party state of California had passed a law prohibiting parents from having a right to learn from their child’s school if the child was experiencing trans gender confusion or being transitioned. California parents secured a federal trial court order preventing that law from being implemented, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals then stayed that lower court order, so that the law could take affect, and yesterday the Supreme Court stayed that appellate court, so that the law was once again paused—obviously a huge win for California parents. The dissent, again predictably, was Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson.
