Democrats' advocacy for more open borders and increased immigration from third-world countries is not driven by humanitarianism, economic needs, or diversity ideals, but by a cynical strategy to import a large, impoverished population that becomes reliant on government programs, reliably votes Democratic when voting either legally or illegally, and is counted in the census towards Democrat House seats even if the migrants do not unlawfully vote themselves.
This dependency translates into loyal Democratic voters, much like how Southern Democrats in the 19th century defended slavery not just for economic reasons (e.g., cheap labor for plantations) but to maintain political dominance in Congress and the Electoral College through the Three-Fifths Compromise, which inflated slave states' representation without granting rights to enslaved people.
Just as slavery preserved a feudal-like system for Democratic elites, mass immigration allegedly sustains a "plantation politics" where urban Democratic machines control poor, minority-heavy districts through patronage and promises of aid, suppressing upward mobility to keep the base captive.
